It's back again the International Choir Festival "Concordia Vocis". 20 lifetime years have been reached with this new edition of the event, organized by Centro Universitario Musicale in Cagliari. It will take place, as usual, in Semptember - October 2011.

This adventure, began in the far 1992, has been nourished by the deep feeling of all its members, who not only dedicated themselves on it, but also have been living vocal music as a precious gift to share and offer to everyone.

I'ts easy to guess how year after year, "Concordia Vocis" has earned a specific role in spreading and rediscovering the international choral repertoire. A growing prestigious role, that makes this festival among the most expected ones, for the quality of its musical offers, not only in Sardinia.

Following the past experiences, this XXth International Choir Festival, will go on with his itinerant character. In fact, in addiction to San Saturno, as the favorite concert venue, the choirs will perform also in Sant'Andrea Cathedral in Tortolì, Santa Maria in Alghero and the "new entry" San Gavino in Gavoi.

This itinerat formula has allowed the foreign choirs, not only to perform on some of the most beautiful places in the island, but aboveall has presented the Festival in a spectacular way: for each edition has always seen new vocal groups, which, have played as ambassadors of their own choral culture.

This fascinating XXth journey through choral music world, confirms again the high artistic level reached and the musical comparison among the worldwide partecipant choirs: the american Salt Lake Vocal conducted by Brady Allred, Japanese Chamber Choir Vox Gaudiosa with Ko Matsushita as conductor, swedish Stockholm's Musickgymnasium Chamber Choir led by Helene Stureborg, french Chamber Choir Mikrokosmos conducted by Pierre Loïc, slovenian Coro Accademico dell’Università Del Litorale di Koper, spanish El León De Oro lead by Marco Antoio García De Paz, who are back in Sardinia after an unforgettable performance in 2009; and the italian choirs too: Coro da Camera dei Civici Corsi di jazz Clam Chowder conducted by Giorgio Ubaldi, sardinian Female Choir Eufonìa from Gavoi and Coro Polifonico Algherese, conducted by Ugo Spanu, Echos Vocal Ensemble from Cagliari,  children choir of Via Quesada's infancy school, Circolo Didattico “Via Garavetti” from Cagliari, and the homeowners C.U.M.

An artists parterre that has been chosen searching among the best international vocal expressions, and as in all previous festival's editions, will provide the faithful public with a month of full musical - artistic occurrances. This 20th edition organized by Centro Universitario Musicale will mark in a precise way the high level reached by this festival which takes place in Cagliari. And has fully valorized, together with the awards and recognitions earned within international vocal music competitions, the work and commitment for choral singing uphold by Centro Universitario Musicale. This commitment has been recognized not only by the always more numerous and qualified audience, but also by the very important recognition obtained in 2009, when Concordia Vocis Festival has been admitted as official member of C. F. N. Choral Festival Network, which is 27 worldwide organizations strong, divided between festivals and competitions. Italy is present in it, only with Concordia Vocis and International Competition "Guido d' Arezzo".

Since his birth "Concordia Vocis" chose not to give a specific plot for each edition, this setting let the choirs free to create musical events rich in artistic interest and to express their own musical tradition too.

The Festival is organized also thanks to the Regione Autonoma della Sardegna contributions, Province, Municipality of Cagliari, Municipal Administration of Tortolì, Alghero and Gavoi.
